Through our Balmurrie Fell wind farm we make around £30,000 per year available for community and charitable projects. Over its lifetime we expect to invest £560,000 in local projects.

Additionally, the same annual amount - equating to £2,500 per installed MW - is committed to the regional Sustainable Development Fund. This fund supports transformational projects across the Dumfries & Galloway local authority area.

PROJECT ELIGIBILITY

The community fund can support projects which:

  • enhance quality of life for local residents
  • contribute to vibrant, healthy, successful and sustainable communities
  • promote community spirit and encourage community activity

Projects in the following community council areas can apply:

  • Kirkcowan
  • Old Luce
  • New Luce

You don’t need to be a registered charity to apply, but your organisation must have a constitution (governing document or set of rules) and not be set up for individual profit. If you are unsure if your group is eligible, please contact James Parker (details below) for advice.
