Greater Gabbard offshore wind farm supports Local Heroes

Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm Ltd (GOWL) was proud headline sponsors of The Beach Radio's Local Hero Awards recently, celebrating the East Coast's shining stars in their achievements.

Sid Anverali, Greater Gabbard's General Manager presented the Gold Award on the night to winner Gary High, who was acknowledged for his many years of service to Refereeing at Lowestoft Town Football Club and his dedication to those in need through his family's charity, the Taylor High Memorial Fund. 

Sid stated: 
"Greater Gabbard is very proud to support the 2014 Beach Local Hero Awards to honour those who have made such a great contribution to their community or have succeeded through adversity. The awards were very humbling and it was a pleasure to present the Gold Award at the event to such a worthy winner." 

The Greater Gabbard offshore wind farm has 140 turbines capable of providing enough renewable energy to supply around 530,000 homes each year. It supports 100 full time local jobs at its operations and maintenance base in Lowestoft as well as a number of local good causes throughout the year.
