17 Sep 2015

SSE’s cycling staff members have today set off on the third and final stage of their Tour of Ulster challenge.

Nearly 30 SSE employees from across the business are aiming to raise €25,000 (£18,000) for local charities by completing a 300km cycle across Ulster over three days.

Stage 3 of the tour will take the cyclists along an 85km route from Ballybofey in County Donegal to SSE’s Slieve Kirk Wind Park in County Derry~Londonderry.

Tour of Ulster participant, Dónal Gormley, said:

“Yesterday was brilliant. It was the longest of the three stages, but the nice weather and high quality road surfaces made it an absolute pleasure. Stage 3 is the shortest route, but the hills will make it a big challenge, especially after the efforts of the last two days!”
