National Women in Engineering Day (#NWED2016) is a yearly awareness campaign to raise the profile of women in engineering and focus attention on the all the career options available to girls. In this third and final video we look at Joanna McKenzie who attended a Women into Science and Engineering trip to Imperial College London when she was younger and was inspired to pursue a qualification in physics. Now she assesses the amount of energy we can harness from our wind farms and works closely with a number of different departments within SSE to get the most from our assets.
The sub-theme for 2016’s National Women in Engineering Day is #RaisingProfiles and Joanna is just one of many female role models within SSE.
We currently have a number of vacancies within our apprenticeship programme in the south of England. For more information please click here or visit our careers page to find out more about the exciting roles within SSE.
