Revised turbine deliveries for Galway Wind Park

04 Jan 2017

The SSE project team developing Galway Wind Park is reminding N59 road users that revised wind turbine delivery arrangements will come into effect tomorrow, Thursday 5 January.

From tomorrow morning, turbine deliveries will cross the N59 at the junction with Doon East (L53453) at a new time of 07.00am, one hour later than the previous 06.00am delivery time. This new later turbine delivery time has been agreed by SSE with An Garda Síochana in order to mitigate the impact of early-morning deliveries on the local residential community.

From tomorrow, An Garda Síochana and the site project team will operate a traffic management plan along the N59 between Roscahill and Moycullen at either side of the junction of Doon Road East between 07.00am and 07.15am approximately to coincide with these deliveries.

This traffic management plan will minimise disruption during these times to road users while ensuring the safe delivery of components across the N59 to the site.

The revised delivery programme will operate for the remaining five months of scheduled turbine deliveries to the site.

These new arrangements reflect SSE’s ongoing commitment towards minimising disruption to the community while it continues to safely manage the delivery of this important project as we move through the final phase of the project which will complete in 2017.
