Our proposed Foxholes solar farm is located on land to the southeast of the village of Norwell (Notts).

Located on agricultural land, with capacity of up to 49.9MW, the site was acquired from Gridmove Ltd. in January 2023.

If constructed, this solar site could generate clean, renewable energy for approximately 16,580 average UK homes.

Project progress

As the proposed project is below 50MW our planning application will be considered by the local planning authority, which is Newark and Sherwood District Council, enabling local people to share their views and opinions.

Details of the planning application are available on the Council’s Planning Portal https://publicaccess.newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk/online-applications/.

Please search using the reference 22/01983/FULM.

What happens next?

Following the initial public consultation and further feedback received following the application being submitted, we have amended our application to address some of the comments that have been received. These amendments will be posted on the District Council planning portal.

The application will be determined by the District Council Planning Committee at a date yet to be decided.

If approved, we will seek to finalise our plans working alongside the local councils and other consultees to meet their requirements. We will continue to engage with local communities before starting any construction activities.

Supply Calculation

* To calculate the number of homes this scheme can supply energy to, we look at the first year of generation and use OFGEMS published average household consumption figures for average household consumption.
