Through our Tangy wind farm we make around £26,000 per year available for community and charitable projects in Argyll & Bute. So far, over £300,000 has been invested into local projects.

£109,737 over 10 years awarded to Argyll, Lomond and the Islands Energy Agency
Argyll, Lomond and the Islands Energy Agency (ALIenergy) is a sustainable energy charity based in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. The ALIenergy team work on a range of projects in Affordable Warmth/Alleviation of Fuel Poverty; Education and Skills Development; and Local Energy.
In recent years, ALIenergy have used the money from the Tangy wind farm fund to support the Affordable Warmth Advice Service. This service offers a range of energy advice topics to raise awareness, increase resilience and reduce the risk of fuel poverty through a mix of home visits, face-to-face advice at events and telephone sessions.
As well as direct enquiries, they also deliver free training events for frontline workers who support vulnerable or disadvantaged households and help them access advice and services.
PROJECT ELIGIBILITY
The community fund can support projects which:
- enhance the quality of life for local residents
- contribute to vibrant, healthy, successful and sustainable communities
- promote community spirit and encourage community activity
Projects in the following community council areas can apply:
- Campbeltown
- East Kintyre
- The Laggan
- West Kintyre
- Southend
You don’t need to be a registered charity to apply, but your organisation must have a constitution (governing document or set of rules) and not be set up for individual profit. If you are unsure if your group is eligible, please contact us for advice.
HOW CAN I APPLY?
The Tangy Wind Farm Community Fund is administered by the community councils who benefit from the fund, as outlined above. To apply for a grant, please contact the appropriate community council for your area.
