SSE Renewables hosting online Meet the Buyer Event on April 17

New renewables contract and tender opportunities which can benefit Irish supply chain companies are set to be unveiled later this month by Ireland’s leading renewable energy developer and operator, SSE Renewables.

The company, which is progressing a pipeline of up to 1.5 GW of new onshore renewable energy developments in Ireland across wind, solar and battery technologies, will host a virtual Meet the Buyer event later this month for businesses eager to learn more about its upcoming contract and tender opportunities linked to the company’s development portfolio in the market.

The free-to-attend webinar event will take place on Wednesday 17 April, beginning at 10am. Attendees will hear about supply chain opportunities linked to SSE Renewables’ portfolio across Ireland, and how firms of all sizes can take part in the tendering process. Suppliers looking to attend should register in advance by visiting the online registration portal here.

Senior representatives from SSE Renewables will participate in the event, presenting detailed information on procurement opportunities including civil and electrical balance of plant framework, environmental services, control and instrumentation and engineering requirements, among others.

Daniel Wood, Senior Contract Manager (Onshore Ireland) for SSE Renewables said: "As a leading developer and operator of renewable energy in Ireland, SSE Renewables presents great opportunities for third-party suppliers. We have a portfolio of around 700MW of operational onshore wind generation across 31 sites in Ireland, including flagship wind farms such as Galway Wind Park in Connemara and Slieve Kirk Wind Park outside Derry City, and we’re currently building one of Ireland’s newest wind farms, the 101MW Yellow River project in County Offaly.

“We’re also progressing a pipeline of up to 1.5GW of secured and future prospect projects across the island of Ireland, and via a range on onshore technologies, including new wind, solar and battery projects. These new projects offer significant opportunity for supply chain businesses in Ireland to partner with us to collaborate on delivering the important zero carbon infrastructure projects Ireland needs to meet upcoming 2030 climate targets. We look forward to welcoming representatives of supply chain companies to this upcoming webinar so they can learn more about how they can join us in shaping a sustainable future together.”

Achilles, the accreditation platform provider, will deliver a presentation on the registration process for suppliers interested in tendering for projects with SSE Renewables.

Attendees will have the chance to submit questions during the presentations which will be answered during a Question-and-Answer session at the end of the event. Questions can also be submitted in advance when registering for the event.
